AbstractAbstract A preliminary review of the literature about magneto-aerodynamics (MAD) is presented, focused on the study of super and hypersonic flow field of air plasmas generated by upstream focused laser energy deposition. The main phenomena which interplay in MAD are briefly discussed as well as some proposed models and difficulties in the related research areas. Alternative approaches and models are pointed-out. Resumo: Uma revisão da literatura sobre magneto-aerodinamica (MAD) é apresentada, focada no estudo de campos de fluxos super e hipersonicos de plasmas gerados por deposicão de energia via laser. Os principais fenômenos que interagem em MAD são brevemente discutidos bem como alguns dos modelos propostos e dificuldades nas areas de pesquisas relacionadas. Abordagens e modelos alternativos são indicados.
